Have you compared the competitor's bullets with the same load in the same gun to get true comps? If it was stated earlier in this thread, I don't have time to read through every post at the moment.

This is all very bad news. What are we going to do with all of our custom 6.5PRC rifles now that an Absolute Hammer bullet can match the speed in the zillion Creedmoors that are out there?

Congrats to Steve and Brian on their newest innovation. Just when you thought there's no more room for improvement the AH comes along.

All things equal Your PRC will or can be a 6.5 PRC magnum , I would be very happy Sir !

So if typical measuring tools won't work for these, should they just be loaded to magazine length?
Also regarding 6.5, I'm still looking for the perfect Bullet for the 6.5G gas gun. I can seat to 2.280". Ideally I'd love to be able to push a 120 class Bullet 2600-2700 in a 20" barrel.

So a 27" barrel I'd expect a velocity gain. But I still have some Lazzeroni Lazerheads in 120 gr that exit at 3850 fps from a 24" 7 Rem Mag, 4050 from the 26" Firebird, but only 3900 from the 26" 7 RUM. These were Barnes X bullets made undersized then grooved and coated with Robar NP3. Though I saw substantial gain with the 7mm's, the 150 gr 30 cal Lazerheads didn't see the same boost. You may not either. I like tough light mono's that leave extremely fast vs slow heavy ones. My "Long Range Hunting" is under 500 yards, so the light lazers work better than the heavy for me. If you are worried about short barrel life, try front ignition loading. Keeps the powder burning in the case, instead of bouncing down the barrel.

So how long are you thinking tell the 30 cals are out. I have a 30 Sherman and was going to order the 199 hh . But now wondering should I wait for the AH bullets

Congratulations and I encourage you to keep coming up with new ideas and not to give too much ear to the critics. Even if it had not have worked out, good on you for thinking this out and trying. We are lucky to have such innovators on this forum.

I sometimes picture going back 120 years and reading John Browning's post's on here...and the replies. Please keep up the good work!

If there weren't enough reasons to shoot Hammers before, 'free' velocity is pretty undeniable.

Normally I would approach such claims with great skepticism, but Steve is a straight shooter. I'll be most looking forward to the 30cal offerings!

If I had a bunch of cheap 700's or Savages's your logic might work. In my case I won't ruin my old Sako's to shoot the new "fancies".

Lol...This is not a rebarrel forum....but it is a long range hunting forum. To shoot long range you have to shoot a lot. You must not...Especially if you old Sakos have the original barrels. Doesnt sound like you buy enough bullets to be relevant anyway. When I rebarrel my old Sako TRG 42 I will try some of these.

This is not a "rebarrel" forum so why can't we get some bullets that work with our old fashion twist rates? I think it is great that you are ahead of the curve but why should we need to build a rifle to shoot your new subjects?

I don't know where you came up with the notion that you have to re-barrel but you don't

How is burning all that powder and pushing for these velocities affecting throat erosion? In a caliber like .300 RUM where barrels can experience throat erosion with low round counts when pushed hard already, is this problem going to be exacerbated using this bullet and pushing higher velocities? Seems like the pressure has to 'go', somewhere? Just curious. Looks very interesting.

Just my opinion here but who cares, If your worried about the life of a tube don't buy a RUM, No offense intended
