Improving the 308 Win performance

I picked up some CFE223 that I plan on testing with the 150 BD2 along with a new keg of LVR. Still waiting for box and follower to show up from Wyatt's. Ordered 7 days ago and still no shipping info.
What length are you going to seat them at?

I vote for the 900 yard coyote shot. I made a coldbore on steel last Saturday at 750 yards, 308W 168 ELDM @2780 fps. 6mph winds held .7 mil into the wind.
While not with a 308W, I have killed coyotes to 1,031yds with a 25-06 loaded with an 85gr NBT, and P-dogs at 1,012yds with same rifle/load.

For years, I used the 308W with a 155 Sierra load in Palma at 8,9 and 1,000yds, and also shot some 1,000yd prone with the 308W. Currently, I have a varmint weight, 26" barrel 308W shooting a 155AMAX I use on the MOA gongs out to 1,000yd, so coyote at 900yd would not be out of the realm. Never tried it with 308W, but could be worth the effort.

No I'd say it's not out of the realm of a 308 Win and high BC bullets. My 308 win and 260 AI are waiting for the next yote. They're test subjects prior to hunting big game.

I'm truly curious, since many are claiming it's a legit Elk rifle at those distances, surely someone has actual experience......I've never killed an elk, heck I've never been elk hunting. But I've been on this web site for almost twenty years and shot long range longer than that. Not once have I ever seen anyone post about a 900yrd+ elk kill with a 308. Maybe I missed it. I'd really love to hear about the whole set up.
There's a guy on YT with a 875 yard 308 win elk kill. Not something I'd want to do but the higher BC bullets just make closer shots that much more possible.

I ran the numbers based off the stated BC and a velocity of 3150fps sea level and 59*.....it could very well be a 800-900yrd elk rifle in the right hands in the right situation. And that's just going off the numbers alone.....energy requirements can certainly be debated.
