In regards to a smokeless muzzleloader.

A 335 grain bullet, with a .450 BC, moving at 3200 ft./s. Sounds like fun to me!

You won't be able to get that with a TC muzzleloader. Only with a bolt action muzzleloader with a 28 to 30 inch barrel.

I was born and raised in far southern Illinois, I don't live there now but I do go back for gun season each year. I have 2 different 20 gauge slug guns that I love, but I'm moving to straight wall rifles. Where I hunt, shots aren't usually more than 60 yds because it's all big woods. I picked up a Savage Trail Hunter in 350L for my daughter (9 yrs old) and I'm waiting for a matching 400L for me. She can't handle the recoil from a slug, but the 350 is no problem. Besides that, I'm moving away from slugs because they are harder and harder to find and my stash is dwindling. The 350 and 400 I can find ammo for without issue.
