You may experience a POI change, but your velocities should remain the same. Just adjust for POI, and you'll be good to go.Has anyone experience as far as POI shift, change in velocity, or have to adjust the "pet" load after adding one of these. Very interested in one of these too but have zero experience with brakes.
Im going to put one on my 308 so it only kicks like my mini 14Just to pile on, ugly? Yes. That said, my buddy put one on his sporter 7mm. I (really) hated to shoot the gun before the bolt on Witt, now it is like a .308. He did same for his .300WM "just so he can spot his shots" he says, and I agree, that is certainly the best benefit in my opinion.
Good to know. POI shift shouldn't be a big deal. Just a click or so on the scope lol. I've read all about timing and whatnot and didn't know if that was something to worry about on these. Sounds like it's not an issue. You may experience a POI change, but your velocities should remain the same. Just adjust for POI, and you'll be good to go.
Know a fella on here..lives in Tennessee! I found his in my backyard.....I live in Alberta Canada...!So here i go what is the feeling on using a clamp or bolt on muzzle brake on an nonthreaded barrel?

Yep!If it works for you and is safe, our opinions amount to a hill of sand.
Another option is to change the stock. That way you really don't change anything that is original to the rifle. But change the recoil characteristics through the design, length and buttpad of the stock.Wow thanks guys i was kind of sure someone would be very disturbed by the idea of bolting anything to a rifle barrel. I just dont want to change the original action or barrel on my dads old 308 mind you ive changed everything attached to it
He already did, it is sitting in a nice chassis, he showed a pic of it on post #22Another option is to change the stock. That way you really don't change anything that is original to the rifle. But change the recoil characteristics through the design, length and buttpad of the stock.
