I’m Convinced. No Lead Bullets for Game

I have been using monos since the TTSX came out. I use several brands now based on my end use. I also use cup and core ... again based on end use. I have never had to shoot any animal more than once with monos or cup and core but it's due to shot placement more than anything else. I find monos easy to load for accuracy in most of my weapons.

So 1x1=2?

We gonna start normalizing Terrance Howard math now?

There's most definitely right, wrongs, lies, and over simplifications. As is life.

Along those lines, some of the biggest Dunning-Krueger offenders come from the online hunting community…dare I say gun community, it would seem.

Car forums arguing about what the best oil is would be a distant second probably.
Dunning-Krueger offenders….the English language needs a single word that refers to their findings…no where in life is it displayed more frequently than on internet forums related to guns, cars and politics.

Forum participation is somewhat like panning for gold…lots of tailings and very few nuggets…

I've been switching everything to monos, they shoot great and will go end to end on an animal if I need it to.

I also feel the need to protect my family by feeding them something safe. I see no point in letting my kids ingest lead if it can be avoided. I guess I'm a believer in the effects of lead poisoning and would prefer to keep our paint and gasoline unleaded as well.

While some of these x-ray-based analysis are interesting and/or alarming; two things come to mind:

1. Chest shot animals seem to have 99% of the lead frags in ribs and organs that are usually discarded. Shoulder shot animals are normally so bloodshot that they get tossed too.

2. Like many of you, I've been hunting and eating game animals most of my life. I have yet to hear of anyone ever experiencing a lead-consumption related illness. I used to shoot a lot of upland gamebirds. It wasn't unusual to detect & remove small shot from prepared birds during consumption. However, I'm sure that I've swallowed a number of pellets over the years. At one time I had EXTENSIVE lab work done for an unrelated issue. Elevated lead levels were not present.

Maybe you need to read the earlier article I posted and do a simple search for several more.

You are already feeding yourself and your kids toxins, bacteria, micro plastics, etc, etc, so unless you are growing, raising and harvesting everything yourself, you have little to no idea what you are eating, and in many cases, where it actually came from.

Just read the labels on several canned, boxed, jarred, etc food items in your house right now. And don't get me started on all the toxic chemicals in your home and daily life. Then, there are the usual illnesses, deaths and recalls due to listeria, salmonella, E-coli, etc, etc.

Point being, some people will strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

I guess you know what I'm feeding my kids. And in your rationale, I should just let them smoke cigarettes and drink ether since I'm already killing them?

I'm simply stating what I prefer, you do you.

Why not ? I been doing it for over 40 years. lol Just kidding. But I do prefer to have lead in my gas. As a mechanic, it has value.

This thread has gone way off the rails. Opinion's are like bungholes, God graced everyone with one. Pushing our opinions on one another is a great way to create divide & that is the last thing this world needs more of. Every gun likes a different bullet/load/etc. Some guns like cup & core projectiles, others like mono's. When I'm out in the woods chasing four legged critters, having complete & total confidence in my tools is what matters the most. All this other nonsense is exactly that. Shot placement will always dictate whether or not our prey dies an ethical death.

If your concerned about extra metals in your food, stop getting unnecessary vaccines. The most up to date vaccine recommendations for today's children is in the hundreds. Parents who choose to follow the doctors orders are putting money in everyone who promotes said vaccine all the while slowly harming & or killing their own child. Put that in your pipe & smoke it….parents harming their own children because they are loyal to doctors who promote big pharma for their own personal gain. Can't FIX STUPID.
