Hurricane Milton - Florida LRH Members

I am sure we have some members in the path of this storm. Please think of their safety in your prayers. This storm will just add to the misery endured from Hurricane Helene.

God bless and God speed to all in the path and pray for their safety.
Amen to that muddyboots we are going to need a lot of prayers and help in Florida. Hopefully it won't affect any other states.

I was awakened by my 88 year old neighbor lady at 5 am , she watched something on the news where DeSantis said to evacuate , so she was leaving . Mind you we live on the east coast south florida and not in the projected path , it's projected to pass north of us .
Anyway , she got mad at us for not leaving with her and stormed off , no pun intended , 88 , she has dementia and no cell phone and who knows where she is .
The news sucks .
We've got friends coming from the other side , dogs , cats , maybe even a bird . I've got the shutters up although we shouldn't need them , figured that frees me up if it gets bad last minute to help others .
It's the Tampa Bay area and north that going to get hit hardest , again , if it goes the way it projected .
I used Windy.com to track/project the storm , it's the most reliable , check it out .

We have a place in Naples, east of Hwy 41, in Zone C. It looks like this will be a significant tropical storm for us, but not a hurricane. Our lot is 9' above sea level and we're a few miles inland, so I don't think we'll flood... no flooding in Irma or Ian. The wind worries us but if it's just 45 mph or less we'll be okay. I worry much more about the people north of Fort Meyers on up past Tampa... I think Tampa is going to take a beating, and just after Helene... and I think it will be a much worse beating.

Been in contact with good friend 25 miles SE of Tampa. No power expected for quite a while, house no real damage but he thinks he has 3-5 days of chainsaw work. He evacuated and was glad he did even though his place survived.

For me it would be the angst, the anxiety and basic fear of sitting there hearing 100+ mph wind hitting your place, hearing trees go down that wears on your soul.

He feels better to get out, chill and then go back with right mindset. He is always prepared.

Wish I could go there to help but in my condition not possible.

I now own lakefront property. We were extremely lucky around my house. Lost some fencing and a few pool screens, no power for 12 hours. I just feel really bad for my fellow Floridians that weren't as lucky as we were.
