Hunting Rifle: Anyone Else Have No Desire for a Silencer?

Talking about suppressors what would be a good one from multiple calibers. Do they make one that you could use on a 22 right up to 338.
I have the Omega 36M and its great on my 338 NM. No ear protection required.

I like the better reduced recoil of a brake over a suppressor
I like the lower volume of a suppressor. Makes it more fun to shoot.
I don't like the volume of a brake
I don't like the added length of a suppressor

What to do??

No cans! Cans are something to carry pork and beans and viennas in, and shoot at when empty! Got one brake on a .375 H&H Mag, but it comes off real easy, if I take that rifle in a hunting situation.

I see a lot of folks are putting silencers on their hunting rifles, even sacrificing ballistic performance by shortening barrels.

Anyone else prefer their hunting rifle to not have a silencer? Maybe I'm old school but I don't have muzzle brakes or silencers on my hunting rifles.
Seems pretty unnecessary to me. Especially a long range rifle.

This thread certainly illustrates just how little most people shoot.
With the price of components, assuming you find them, not every body can afford to hit the range every week and spend a few hundred dollars
I used to shoot 1,000 9mm, 357 and 44 Mag a week combined plus a few hundred playing with my classic rifles. Now I just shoot just enough not to go rusty!

I don't even want to hear it. You can shoot a .20cal or a .22cal for next to nothing. You can buy Alpha OCD 6BRA brass and take it down to 22cal and legit get over a hundred firings on the brass, and an 8lb jug of powder goes a long way when you're burning 32gr at a time.

People seem to find a way to afford everything else. Boats, bikes, campers, RV's, beer, liquor, tobacco, etc.

Everyone that I've ever met that complains about what they can't afford, is always blowing money on some worthless vice.

If they truly are that hard up where they just have zero disposable income, then what are they doing on this forum wasting time? They should be working or pursuing their chosen discipline.

Sorry, I can't get behind the "hard luck" message. God blesses us all equally. If we care to ask him for what we want, you'll be guaranteed to receive it.

I do. Not own one. And. Have. No plans. To. Get one. Any time. Soon ! I. Just don't know enough. About the. Pro and. Cons !

some people have been out of work for a long time and no unemployment benefits. Paying mortgage is more important than shooting.

I don't care one way or the other. Personally I can't justify the cost of not only the suppressor but the fee for having one. I'll gladly put that extra $$ into more ammo or components

When I had disposable income I bought one for my 556 and one for up to 300 win mag! Now I don't have any disposable income! In the future I like to have one that can handle 375 H&H and 338 LM. But those are expensive!

I am running 28" of Lilja on my 7mag, and I do agree with you. I know that I am far behind the learning curve at this point, but I built a gun using the most of the education I had at the time. When i put this gun together I was in my twenties. That 28" Lilja barrel an HS precision stock, and 168gr Berger Vld's were the right answer. That combination never quit working for me and my hunting style. I can't hardly imagine deer or elk hunting with an 18-20" barrel. On the flip side, a lot of people wouldn't want anything to with packing around a 10.5lb rifle all over God's creation either.🤷‍♂️
