Just read an article whereas a hunters ed teacher was complaining about all his students wanting the latest "super-mag" long range weapon and that they could not wait to try it out beyond 400 yards. I don't feel that he should complain about this, but nurture it. Explain to the kids that the humane kill is the ONLY way. And that lots of practice at longer ranges is what is needed. If a kid can hit a praire dog at 500 yards, don't see how a deer at 250-300 yards would be a problem.
