Howa mini actions?

Don't forget the inbetweener that they're using on the Superlite...I think it's a scaled down short action.

The Superlite is based off a Mini action.

The bolt body is 6mm longer (1/4in).
The bolt lugs have a larger sweep.
The action is 6mm longer.
The rear bridge is shortened to increase the size of the cutout for feeding and ejecting.

The attached photos are against a Howa Mini rebarreled to 6mm ARC a couple of years back.

No, it won't. The receiver itself is longer on the Superlite than the Mini, and the bottom metals are different dimensions.

As indicated, the Superlite action is just a bit longer. Whilst a competent worker could fudge that in a Mini stock, the main issue is the stock is cut to accept a much larger magazine.

Instead of 55mm (2.2in) long cartridges, the Superlite is handling 72mm (2.8in) long cartridges. That is a hard thing to fudge in a stock.

Good afternoon guys, do you guys that own or have owned howa mini actions like them? I'm looking to buy a .223 caliber bolt gun and was considering buying a howa mini. Use will just be target practice at 100-600 yards, maybe some predator hunting. I am also considering buying a Tikka in .223 as I have a Tikka and love it. The gun store could not find any Tikka .223 in stock so I would have to find someone with one and have it transferred if I went that route so that's half the reason I'm debating the howa mini. Brownells has barreled howa mini actions on sale for just under 400 bucks right now..

My Dad and I each have one in 6.5 Grendel, and I've loaded for a couple others. All have been good shooters. They're sweet little guns to carry. I put mine in a Bell and Carlson stock and replaced the factory bottom metal (plastic) with bottom metal from Jefferson outdoors. Made it a really nice, trim little package to carry.

Oberndorf style release button inside the trigger guard.
High end rifle trigger guard shape.
Best of breed, IMO.

Depends on the color and size of the predators you're hunting. There's big brown ones, white ones, black ones, black & yellow striped ones, golden ones with big black ruffs around their necks, yellow ones with black rosettes, little bitty grey ones that are fierce as the dickens. Some of the meanest ones can be any color but they'll come running to the toss of some grain.

I also received today my Jefferson "real metal" bottom metal. I am in complete satisfaction. Fit and finish are great.

Great thread guys! I'm considering a 6.5 grendel BA to put in a stockys CF with the Jefferson BDL bottom metal. I'll be shooting hammers and 100 gr NBT.

I'm going to chop the barrel to 16.5" to manage overall length while carrying. Is the lighter profile big enough to thread? I'd prefer 5/8x24, but I suppose I could get away with 1/2x28.

Not sure if you'll have enough OD at 16.5... I've only seen one sporter contour 22" and it does have taper but didn't pay enough attention to give an opinion.

My 22" 6ARC sporter is threaded 1/2 x 28
