I'm getting cold bore shifts in the 300 Win Mag, it has some fire cracking in the throat, but not much. Using H4831 and 200 Accubonds for big game hunting, Cold bore is an inch high at 12 o clock, and remaining rounds are in a group an inch right and low at 2 o clock. Happened on three sessions when testing. How to I stop this cold bore shift?

Check to see if the barrel is "free floated and action screws are secure. I am also assuming this is a FACTORY rifle. If all is YES, then change the barrel to custom aftermarket barrel.
It's a custom rifle, Rem 700 action, Bartlein 26 inch barrel, stock is free floated and pillar bedded. What would be the torque specs and sequence if I were to readjust the action screws again?

55 in/lbs is the standard for most stocks. I would loosen them stand the rifle on the butt of the stock, maybe gently bounce to ensure the barrel lug is against the stock, tighten front screw partially then rear, and then final torque in the same sequence.

Another thing worth a try is to tape the muzzle with electrical tape and chamber a fired case to seal the tube after shooting. Sometimes moisture/condensation can do funny things to cold bore shots. Something the Gunwerks shooters have observed. But that's with going in and out of warm lodges to cold winter hunting environments. Likely not so much a thing in your application.

I would try a couple of wet patches of Lock Ease graphite powder. I learned the trick from hall of fame bench rest shooter Speedy Gonzales and have had good luck with it minimizing cold clean bore shift in center fire. It also works well on match 22 Rimfire barrels.
Interesting I might have to try that.
