So how many guns are enough? 65 with cancer and I have like 50 don't want the leave the wife with having to figure out what to do with them. So I guess I need to cull the herd but what to keep. How many is enough? What's the best way to separate with them? Really lost and just unsure

Cancer sucks! I am a cancer survivor (cholangiocarcinoma in 2021), and I count my blessings every day. Be strong, and God bless!

My wife and I had estate planning done 5+ years ago, so our kids do not have to worry and be burdened with expenses and what to do with our estate when we pass. I have two sons who love guns as much as I do.

There is no magic number or set way to cull them. Both my sons know precisely what I have for them to decide. More than likely, my oldest will keep just a handful and have my youngest have the rest since he is much better off than his little brother.

Again, good luck, and God bless. You are in our thoughts and prayers. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

BTW, I got near 100 until the boating accident. 🤣 😍

Depends on what you use your guns for. Do you hunt? If so what? If you sell some then your wife may get mad because of what you spent previously on the guns, then you are the doghouse. If you keep the collection and she sells them later, she may be upset but will get over it quicker when she finds out what they may be worth. 😄. Seriously keep what has value to you and what you use. Then you can sell the rest and not miss them

Praying for your health and beating cancer

Been fighting it since 2015 not going to quit now. I do hunt when I can so I'll keep my Ruger Scout I enjoy the range when its open but I don't reload. So of the dozen AR's I guess 1 will do. And skeet starts in the spring so the over/under stays. Plus my carry. Has anyone ever used a auction house. We have one that has guns about once a month guess I could just call and ask them

I have sold through gunbroker and a local gun store. The local gun store worked way nicer for me. Fees were a little more (15%) but did get more than was expecting for them. Plus no back and forth with questions or shipping and tax like on broker. Money spent also went to a good local guy instead of wherever.

Cancer does suck.
I know when my favorite uncle was passing I would have loved a chance to buy some of his rifles.

Estate Auctions for the most part are not geared to guns. Estate planning and will etc now if you don't have it. Sell guns yourself cause you know what they are worth. We will be praying for your healing

Thanks

Buck

Interesting thread. I started to eliminate rifles I know my son would have zero interest or zero understanding due to their uniqueness. Developing standard cartridge type rifles to max their performance which he gets. Plus I am having fun doing that! Easier for me to thin herd than he would.

Reloading equipment bigger issue IMO.
