Shoting is like learnig to play the piano , the more you practice , the better you get . Like I tell my wife when we're shooting our pistols " that weapon should be an extention of your arm ". This way,God forbid the time ever comes, pulling the weapon & firing should be as second nature . Practice makes perfect .

Prior to 12/2010 I used to shoot approx 200 x 223 Remington plus 100 x 303 British rounds per year.
This was part of load development/ learning about reloading/ familiarization with my rifles ( 303Br SMLE sporterised and 223 Rem CZ527 American)/ target practice and occasionally hunting.
I purchased 2 new rifles in 12/2010(a Left Hand CZ527 American in 223 Rem) and 2/2011(a Left Hand Ruger Hawkeye African in 375 Ruger) and in them I have fired 100 x 223 Rem and 100 x 375 Ruger.
For the future I will probably mix the use of the 303 and 375 for hunting to minimise the long term effects of recoil on my allready damaged neck (my doctor advised this due to some spinal damage - result of a previous accident).
Estimated future yearly minimum number of rounds fired - 100 x 223 Rem, 50 x 303 British and 50 x 375 Ruger.

Safe shooting.

2 ea 220 swifts @ 750 rounds ea./yr

2 ea 243 @ 500 rounds ea./ yr

1 ea 1895 Win 30-40 Krag, My Grandfathers gun, 50 rounds a year

300 Wby Mag 250 rounds a year, and should shoot a lot more at longer ranges and tune up to shoot better at long ranges. Im behind after a few years of off time from injuries. Good to be back shooting much more this year already and enjoying these forums immensely. Great Folks and vast experience to learn from here. Nice to find this site this spring.

Somewhere between 500 and 1,000. A lot of them at the range... some testing loads etc. and some because here in NSW, Australia it is a condition of holding a firearms license that you have to attend a club range at least 4 times a year. I probably fire no more than 150 actually hunting. I use several single shot centerfire rifles though.

years ago it was nothing to shoot 1000 9mm, 1500 .44 mag, 1500 .45 acp, 500 .357mag, 12 and 20 gauge shotgun and 1000 .22rimfire and reload all centerfire cases before the next weekend. not even counting the brass flinger mini14.

as a competition trapshooter, i shoot about 2000-3000 registered birds a year, i practice just as much competition as practice so thats around 5000 just in shotguns. I got a 7mm rem mag and have put 300 rounds through her, and ive only had it 2 months. i shoot my 243 at least 500 times a year. my 257 roberts about 500 times a year, my 44 magnum about 200 times a year, and borrowed guns about 200 rounds. so thats give or take 6700 rounds (ish) a year?

Probably a lot less than last year because I have a feeling that components are going to get hard to come by. I pre-loaded a couple thousand 223's last year, all in cases put away. I tend to load a couple boxes of the big bore stuff simply because I don't shoot that many.

I am relitivly new to long range hunting so I have to get as much practis as I can mostly 223 my wife wont let me invest in reloding stuf yet and thay are the most inexpensive amo. But I do get out my 308 my7mm. mag my 8mm. mauser my303 britsh and my 22 my Dad always told me practis makes perfict well as close as you can get I will never be prefict. Heck I even got out my Dads old Bare recurv bow the other day sparkt a lot of god memorys. I have oned my ar for about a year been thrue 3000 ronds I also have a 223 axis.

All I own is center fire rifles, counting the shot gun I shoot well over 1000 a year. Before I started reloading it was more like 160-220 rifle rounds and 1200-2000 shotgun rounds. Now I reload both and shoot at least 1000 rifle rounds and 3-5k shotgun shells a year

Actually I don't count how many rounds I shoot don't want my wife to know. I just got hooked up with a friend of mine and started reloading what a difference I will probably shoot a lot moor now but I am still not going to keep any count just records of how they work.
