Please post pics of your best group sizes at given yardage. Cartridge, component list, powder, bullet, load combo and velocity as well. Smallest group at the farthest yardage, with the shortest barrel wins!

Second is my $350 factory 30/06 cut the barrel down to 16"
Blemished 208 eld-m's at 2420fps with H4350
3 shot group at 755yds for 2.6"
The low left shot was where I tried to start the group but it was to close to the edge to continue. Currently has a NV optic on top.

Interested in this. Im running a 20" 6.5 Creed with 123g AH at around 3050fps. What does the 85g at 3500fps do for you? Or is it just a different way to get to the same place? Just curious as im always looking for something to tinker with and try out. Thanks.
It gets me higher impact velocity through most of the usable range. It will not be able to reach as far, but I am intending to use this rifle to 400ish yards. High vel is the name of the game when the bullet can handle the high vel impacts. Impact vel is more meaningful than energy or weight. On paper I will be good to about 500y. I would take that shot if all is good.

@FEENIX can let us know if I used any wrong terms about high vel here.

A full dose of Varget is working well. Start at 42g should top out about where you can't get any more in the case. Getting 3500 fps with 20" barrel and I am getting reports of 3600 fps with longer barrels.

100 yard 3 shot group
35 Whelen
18" Shilen barrel
Savage action
McMillan HTG stock
Elite Iron Sierra suppressor
Norma brass
57.6 grains IMR 4895
Federal 210
200 grain Shock Hammer
2625 FPS

57.2 and 58 grains produced great groups as well during round robin load testing. Good enough for short shots in western Oregon.

One hole. Good enough? Haha!

Did you get an SBR tax stamp?
That would be a wicked truck gun or backpack rifle.
Its a two stamper. One for the SBR and one for the can. Makes an awesome backpack gun. Is super balanced and stable on my tripod with the built in ARCA. I've killed a bunch of hogs with it and my sone killed his first deer with it last year.

Here's my 18", 6.5 lb. 308.
We're leaving tomorrow morning for a family vacation in Florida, and I'll meet up with a buddy down there to hunt hogs for a couple days.

My load is 41.0 gr of TAC with a 180gr interbond at 2450fps in 90° temps. It shoots right at an inch at 100 yards, which will be fine for the 20-75 yard shots I plan on taking.

I'll be doing this as well next year as I'll finally be done with moving back and forth across the country. I want something with a 10" or 12". I want a rifle as light as a recurve and silent as a mouse fart. Lol.
