How long is your ignore list?

There's obviously a reason why Admin enabled the use of an ignore button. I come to this site to escape the NEGATIVITY of my chosen profession (I have pretty thick skin at this point and don't anger easily) and the rigors of day to day life as well as LEARN a few things and connect with friends. It's how I start each day, actually. The more POSITIVE I can make it, the better off I am. The ignore button only enhances my experience here (when necessary) and IMHO is a very useful tool for "me".

I'm at 73 on the ignore list. IMO some people only spread discord and ignorance. I do check their ratio of posts vs likes from time to time. Most often they have 2:1 ratio of posts to likes. Again IMO helpful people have a 1:1 or better ratio.

Well said! You know I have the utmost respect for the men and women in blue, and God bless you and your brothers and sisters in arms for what you do for us all. I have been dealing with commanders daily at various levels for nearly four decades, and you do not last long without patience and thick skin.

Like you, I always start my day (0300) on a POSITIVE note. It might not end as I hope, but I always try. NEGATIVITY takes way too much wasteful energy, so I try to avoid it. When it has no value added, I do not do it. I, too, am a continuous LEARNER. Yes, the ignore button is a valuable tool made available for everyone, should we choose to use it. It is something I can control and see the benefit for me, so I use it. It has nothing to do with not having thick skin or being closed-minded, or whatever reason has for not using. As previously, some of those on my list, I was directed.

If I ignored somebody I dont remember...I'm not sure were that Button is ??
I'm typically cruzing the Classified looking for more Rum !!

I wonder that same thing. I don't have anyone on the ignore list. You never know what you might learn from anyone.

I must say I'm not against it. Some people are clearly tough to deal with and or drinking.
Although is have not use the button I understand.
But as long as they are making a well thought out argument even if it's wrong I leave them.
Feenix and I definitely do t see eye to eye on one subject for sure. Probably a few others but, we agree on more than we disagree on I'm sure of that.
So as easy as the button would be to use in those situations I choose not to. Because discord is good as long as it doesn't get to the point of breaking the rules.

Plus I think that if you use it enough you end up in an echo chamber which is far worse than just dealing with those people.

And sometimes admin wants it there so they can tell tangoists to lose each other for the sake of the forum and everybody else. Some posters here have been required to use it.

Here's my humble perspective on it.. It's an intentional feature and has it's useful purpose. Not everyone will relate to it the same way, and that is completely expected and fine. No need to cast judgement. Bragging about it, though, raises some fair questions.

I don't have anyone on my actual ignore "list", but there are some I just won't engage with. Seems like they always set a trap for an argument that they will never concede to. So I just abstain from responding to their threads or posts, even though I think my responses would enlighten others. Not worth the hassle.

On here and Hammertime I have one each. On 24hour I some time get a whole page. I smile and think, Here's a whole page of impolite or self absorbed posters.
