House moves to remove wolves from endangered species list

The bill is sponsored by three Republicans and a Democrat, all from northern and western states.

"The gray wolf has recovered," the bill's sponsor, Sean P. Duffy, told Wisconsin Public Radio. "When you have endangered species, that's when the federal government will step in … but when a species has recovered, we give it back to the states."

America! Freedom! 223 Rem might be a bit light. 243 Win 85gr - 100gr Sierra sounds about the right medicine for a wolf.

A Democrat voting to hunt wolves? Times do change.

You do realize that the reason Idaho and Montana have been hunting and trapping wolves for years was because of a Democrat right? mtmuley

I'm sure you know more about what's happening here in NW Wyoming than I do.
I'm just not sure who's suffering greatly because of the wolves?

I am no longer in Wyoming but I have friends that still live there as I lived there for ten years and my wife and I owned a restaurant there also.

I believe he's referring to the fact that Democrats, spurred on by left wing activist, have weaponized the ESA to control the management of federal lands.
Wolf re-introduction is another tool that's been used by hard left groups like Alliance for the Wild Rockies, to shut down forest management which enhances elk habitat.
So yeah Diamondback, I'm a little surprised too.
Don't worry though, the hippies still have Grizzlies in there litigation tool belt.

You posted 3 links for 1 event that happened 1 time.
I've lived here for over 15yrs.
Yes I know wolves kill elk, deer, livestock and dogs.
I know someone who lost an entire pack of cat hounds at a tree.
I've seen uneaten elk, sheep and cows in the forest.
Yes I know some of the wolves are huge. I've seen tracks that are bigger than my boots. I've seen a lot of wolves. None of them looked enormous.
I support hunting wolves and other predators. Everything needs management.
I think "scourge" aka great suffering, is a bit extreme.

So Wlfdg did you bother to do any further research on your own or not???? I guess you have to be spoon fed.
I don't have to do research. All of this is part of regular conversation for me.
I live with this, grizzly politics, ungulate politics, cattle politics and all of the emotional opinions that surround it on a daily basis. I'm one of the few right leaning conservatives in my world so to speak.

I'm a skeptical person by nature. I'm especially skeptical of any claims that are emotionally fueled. I'm also very skeptical of claims from people who place personal ownership on wildlife and public lands.

I'm a fan of The Real Gunsmith. I support his You Tube page on Patreon. I talk to a lot of old timers who are equally opinionated. I hear them out and take most things "with a grain of salt" as is said.

Wolves play a positive role in the ecosystems they are indigenous to. I have seen the evidence of that first hand.

I'm not getting into the debate over the introduced wolves being bigger than the native wolves. I have a friend who is a biologist that has already cleared that up for me.

Humans have knack of ruining everything they try to "fix" in the natural world. I feel it's the same with wolves.

Then don't be petulant about my answers when you acted like you had no clue! Wolves were not in Wyoming's ecosystem and the species they shoved down Wyoming's throat via threats was not a native species. The meeting I attended we were told the wolves would not leave the park as they would have sufficient prey base. I called that B.S. at the time as no one can control where packs of wolves go to find food. I was the top of my class in Biology when the head of the department tried to talk me into making it my major. She said I understood genetics better than most of her grad students; so spare me your reference to an "expert" as I have knowledge in that field also having attended several colleges, universities, and the U.S. Army sent me to Yale University. So I may have been born in Arkansas but as my friends ther say I have been tampered with (educated). Next time don't try playing ignorant (lacking in knowledge)!

@wlfdog. post #15 You do realize that the wolf that was reintroduced to the Yellowstone ecosystem IS NOT NATIVE to that ecosystem, right.
