Seems like a 30-338 Lapua Improved would be a good candidate for the 250's.
So basically everyone thinks it will take a 32" tube and still need a cartridge that will bark a foot of fire out the end lolSeems like a 30-338 Lapua Improved would be a good candidate for the 250's.

I mean you could punt one out of a 308 but why would you.
You're really going to want a cartridge to get it going 2800-3000fps. So 300 Norma to 300 Lapua improved territory.
Swap out scope bases between 500 and 1000 lolHmm think a 308 could get it going 2300? Only need 35-38 moa to get to 1000
i expect 3950fps out of the (shigashigashino .300 RIPDOWN rounder) using .05" thick brass at 150k psi
No. The 250 ATip is much more efficient regardless what cartridge pushes it. Even in the 308, it outperforms the 230s at the 2400 fps. Less drop and better wind numbers. These numbers were gathered by another member on a different forum. Not me.Already sounding like the 230 may be the better of the two in combination of velocity and B.C. Very similar to what was seen with the 215gr Berger vs the 230.
