High pressures at minumum loads and under.

That's the best lead I've heard so far. I have some clay left over from the bedding job so I'll try that.
If I need to chamfer the rim, what degree/bevel do I need? I'm guessing my headspace isn't wrong because my go-guage sets back nicely against my bolt face. Right?

Chamfer it on a 45o Angle (That's what the front extractor grove is on the WSMs)

Sorry I did not notice this.= your head space gauge is not rebated so your head space is probably ok, but the head space of the loaded round could be off if the bolt rim is holding the case off, slamming the case backwards during firing.

Just a thought

You hit it right on JE Custom. I went up to the clearcuts last night and shot a bit. I didn't have one problem with cases sticking in the bolt. Every fired round cycled good.

I live on an island in the Gulf of Alaska and things are hard to come by. We have a lathe in my shop, (compliments of the Alaska Game and Fish), that has been sitting idol under a black cover for years. One other maintenance guy and I are the only ones who have used it of late. I had to make a bolt holder out of aluminum block to hold my bolt in the four-jaw chuck. It burned up most of my weekend but I got it done and my bolt functions great now. Now back to load development.

Thanks again to all who replied.

Great catch JE! Cool thread, shows how the smallest detail can make such a huge difference.

This is a gold nugget of information I'm going to save.
