Help me spend $2500

I love all the suggestions, but I think a person really has to ask what does spending $2500 get me over a Tikka Roughtech or Veil? ….ok, let's say you are particular about the stock, brake or even the barrel….one or two of those can be replaced and still be under $2500.

I think you will find a Tikka will be a legit 1 MOA rifle. That is sub half MOA all day long on the internet.

The Tikka does have a down side. It has a small shank diameter and an action length that is too short for long magnum builds. I think 3.4" is max factory OAL and somehow it can be modified to 3.5" OAL.

The other issue is they tend to chamber in mundane calibers. You can get a 6.5x55, but not a 6 creed nor 280AI. Twist rates are typical to slow….like 11 twist 300 WM.

6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC and 243 8 twist are all nice choices.

It's my understanding European gun makers have different regulations and approval of new cartridges takes a while to incorporate.
(Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

With many upgrades available a person has plenty of options. Watch the ads on this forum and you can get a very nice package put together.

Get yourself a solid custom action like a Mack Brothers. Then a barrel of your choosing, trigger and stock and have a gunsmith chamber it for you. It'll be waaay better than anything off the shelf and every aspect will be what you want it to be.

If you reload, build a custom LA gun w/ wyatts magazine box to load long. If not factory, out of the box Bergara Ridge Carbon rifles are accurate, Tikkas are shooters too but you will need to customize the barrel and chamber to shoot 7prc and stocks are weak point so you'll probably replace that too. If I was shooting only factory ammo, I'd get a Bergara and put the rest of the money towards ammo or optics.

I currently have a rifle project coming together. Here are my parts and costs.

Nearly new SS Tikka T3x rifle $650
Pure Precision $525 (Black Friday special)
Hart .30 cal 1 in 9 barrel (new from a LRH member) $225
Pure Precision aluminum bottom metal (new from a LRH member) $90
Unknown Munitions Action mods, skeletonizing action, bolt fluting and open bolt face with return shipping $410
LGS will cut, tread, chamber & install barrel for $425

Total $2325.00

Ps. Chambering will be .300 Wsm with extra long throat. Goal for the rifle with scope mounted and Silencer Central Banish Backcountry installed should around 7.8-7.9 pounds.

Looking for a new rifle. I want it to be chambered in 7 PRC and would prefer a 22" barrel so I can run a suppressor. Shooting will probably be mid range by most of your standards but would like to be able to be confident to make shots in hunting situations to 600 yards or so. I realize this takes practice. Not a big fan of Seekins as I don't like the feel of their stocks. What other rifles should I be looking at?
A used one. And if 600 yards is your threshold, you don't need a 7 PRC, a 6 or 6.5 Creedmoor will kill everything you point at it. Or stop being a stingy poor and by the rifle you want 🤣🤣

not to hijack the thread but I just build a similar 300 wsm from Tikka T3x. how long of a throat or what bullets are you planning to use with this setup?

Buy a Savage and dont look back.I bought a Savage 110 in MDT Chassis for 1800.00 whie waiting on my Custom Rifle to be built.I shoot in King Of One Mile & 2 Mile matches. In Light Gun mmatches Ive had 1st round impacts and cleaned some targets out to 3050 yards.
So 600 Yards is a Chip Shot for you. What Im saying Savage Rifles out of the box shoot extremely accurate. When I was a kid Savage and Mossberg were Junk. But they are not anymore.Good Luck.
