Help Me Choose Waterproof Gaiters?

I ran a pair of the Kenetrek the last couple elk seasons in CO and have been pleased. I just picked up a pair if the Kuiu Kutanas for this year. Also have a set of the Kuiu Scree gaiters

I own several different brands.... kuiu, kenetrek, first lite and sitka. Hands down the best is the kuiu Yukon gaiters. When the snow flies here in Colorado they are my go to without question
I'll second these. Used them on a Kodiak Island mountain goat hunt. Weather on the 7 hour hike in was horrendous. High winds and driving rain. Campsite was basically a pond. They worked exceptionally well. Dried out quickly too.

Schnee`s used to make them, but I don`t know if they still do.I have a pair from them I bought 22 years ago and they still are water proof.
22 YEARS!? Wow! My FL Bramblers started leaking end of last season… 3 full years of use.

When I was younger, I did a lot of back packing and hunting. Heard a lot about gaiters, so I tryed them. I, did not see any thing speical about them, so I stopped useing them.

I 2nd or 3rd or whatever for the OR gaiters. They've been the standard to which all others aspire or are designed to imitate.
If you want Bueller proof the OR crocodile are as good as it gets. They can be a little noisy for mule deer spot and stalk type hunting but I wear them year around in Colorado. Summer to keep the dirt and sticks out of my shoes, spring and fall for creek crossings, dewy mornings and the occasional muddy bog, then winter snow. You absolutely can not beat them.

I
I've had the First Lite Brambler for the past 4 years and they've finally started to leak. I'm in the market for a new pair and am curious what everyone is using.
I don't typically wear camo, so the color wouldn't need to match anything else I own.
Waterproofing and durability are my highest priority here.
I just need them by the end of the month.
I have used OR Research and Kennetrek, both work well and have lasted for many years. Being bow legged I don't get much noise from either, but being made from a nylon material your mileage may vary.

Looking at the OR photo above I would bet a fair $ they are making Kennetreks. I have L and XL KUIU and they are bombproof and pretty quiet. No shot at going over pac boots so I just got some camo fleece Kennetrek XL and they are actually too large so a pair of L are coming next week.

I have found the Stone Glacier to be the best with PEAX a very very close second. Used to run the kenetrek, tried kuiu, they seemed great material wise but wouldn't fit my calves right. Sitka were similar; just ram too small. I have some first lite that I have yet to try because I have loved the stone glacier and Peax so much.

They are a must for me in snowy, sloppy conditions only. Or in really wet brush. Not if it's fairly dry. They will cause sweatier feet.

Oh, and I used kuiu yukon's last late season. Awesome so far. Kutanas are lighter and worth a look. May not last as long , but who knows. Kennetreks did well for me. Got a few seasons out of each pair. ORs have a great reputation but are a bit noisier. Buddies have them...they still kill plenty of critters. Archery season and dry rifle weather , I seldom wear any tho. I would like to try the lower , lighter ones in this nasty brushy country to stop snagging my boots n pants and keep twigs n pokies out of the boots tho.

I second the stone glacier SQ2. I just got my pair and they look to be nicer than my OR's. Very well thought out. Just check out their video online.
All those videos are what has me considering them. That and the fact everything they make has that "higher level of thought" go into it.
