Help, Looking for a new hunting caliber, thinking 6.5-284, 6.5 SAUM maybe?

Might take a look at the .264 win mag. Should feed perfect in a 7 mag rebarrel and give plenty of velocity for whatever you want to do. Kinda boring but doesn't mean it isn't good.

If you want to sell your stock let me know. Seriously

Simple fix is to run Norma 7 Saum brass through a full length 6.5 saum die, super simple and great brass.
I neck turn but it's not required

Very difficult to find Norma 7 SAUM brass in my experience. Also, I am running the latest generation of Hornady brass. I just had to trash over 100 pieces after 3 firings because the primer pockets were way too loose for any subsequent loadings.

1:8 will be good for the 147's. I would guess a 1:7.5 or 1:7 for the new bergers.

My votes for the 6.5SS! better barrel life with similar FPS of the 6.5 SAUM.

Check out Rich's new site if you haven't yet.
