Help dialing in loads for a newbie

If you have a lot of these Hornady bullets. Then I would buy the Hornady tool and see what your max coal is. Then try a seating depth ladder from 20-100 off. If not try a different bullet. But seating depth can make a big difference.
 
One thing that I didn't see mentioned was look at the bullet and see if it has a recommended twist rate.

With some of the longer mono type bullets you need a different twist than the shorter cup and core type bullets of the same weight.

Even though you are using say a 150 grain, one manufacturer or one bullet model in that weight may need a different twist rate.
