I have used the .270 winchester in my early Pronghorn hunts, but have been using a.257 ackley improved for the last twenty years.Light, accurate, deadly .
I know Im late on this topic, but my favorite antelope cartridge was always my .270 Win. Got 3 in my time, and all shots I recall were under 300 yards. One in Wyoming, one in N. Arizona, and one in Montana.
For those just joining, I ended up getting 2 does in the early and late hunts this year with the .308 shooting 150gn Hornady GMX. We are definitely fans of the 270. My wife shoots a Ruger 77MkII stainless 270 that I have a 130gn GMX load for. She shoots everything from lope to elk with it, and very accurately so.
I've really enjoyed the comments. cheers
