HAS anyone found a powder that will reasonably shoot the 180 berger VLD bullets????

I know the twist needs to be 1-8 however I have a factory Sendaro that still shoots 1/2" at 200 yds using nosler 160 AB. Everything is DRT. But would like to try the 180 VLD and see what this rifle will accomplish...... PLEASE SHARE LOAD SPECIFICS, I will work up after I confirm data.

Elk Hunter 338 built me a 7LRM a while back. The MOST accurate rifle I've ever owned. Killed the bull in my avatar with it too.

So I had a factory sendero stw and shot the 180s out of it fine. 78gr H1000 cci250 primer and coal of 3.66 velocity was 2950. Low es and grouped great out to 1k. My brother in law killed a great bull at 960 yards with it. That was the farthest kill. The 180s are a great Bullet imo.

Remington 700 7mmSTW, 27" PacNor barrel, 1-8 twist, best load was 72.5gr of RL-22, Fed 215 primer, 180gr Berger VLD, 3.67 COAL, 3091fps average. Has probably accounted for 7 or 8 elk, all one shot DRT kills from 75yds to 517yds. This is a hot load, work up to it.

75 - >80gr US869 in 7RM. Start low, work up. Now that RL-26 exists though, that's where I'd go with 7RM but I might just stay with US869 in 7STW.

My STW likes RE25, except I've had a couple issues in cold weather. Going to switch to Ramshot Magnum, nicer powder to work with and more velocity also, without losing a noticeable amount of accuracy. 180 Bergers and RE25 have taken over a dozen bulls farthest at 820, about as many bucks out 770 and a wolf at 683 for me.
