Hard Water---who's ready to go

I wanted to move to WY but my family says "no, it's too windy there!"
You're in a darn nice region of Mt. or not to far to travel for things to see and do!

Not all of Wyoming is windy….just most of it! Actually it's quite "tame" here….windy days are pretty rare, and when we have one, very rarely does wind speed exceed 30 mph.

But, we are in an extremely dry region of the state. Worland, a nearby town gets an annual average total precipitation of 7.7", we're in a dryer part of the basin…..I'm guessing 6" or slightly less!

But, we are in close proximity to….mountains, lakes/reservoirs and good hunting for various game species.

The best aspect of our home location is…..we actually have 4 seasons, and it's 100 miles to closest 4 lane hwy, 160+ miles to a city of 50K people or more, closest Walmart is about 70 miles….we don't like the neighborhood, so we make an 80+ mile drive to Cody.

A lot to like here! memtb

I have an Ion and love it. Been hammering the trout at my favorite secret lake - 15 to 20" trout. However, been back in AZ for a few weeks, where the only hard water to be found is what comes out of every tap.

I'm planning to move to Townsend in the summer. Pretty there too.

I'm ready to go year round, but locating hard water can be challenging in August. I'll be in Wisconsin for a few weeks come tomorrow, fishing and family are my top priorities. The order is flexible.

Also buying an new-used boat (bigger and faster), a new portable fishing hut, rods, reels, jigs, lures, etc.! There's about 20 packages already waiting for me.

I'm also bringing a new-used barrel for my Model 100 Winchester in 284 Win. I'm going to transplant it onto one of mine in 308 and try it out. I'm excited to get that going, I've always wanted one in 284. Folks here have been getting me supplied with brass, bullets and dies. :)

I'm also getting ready for the annual family fishing trip to the far north of Wisconsin for the Memorial Day (first Saturday in May) opener. Great fun on softwater too, no auger needed!

Life is good!
