Hammered the 204 today

I'm curious as well....very curious and I'm waiting for one to be stupid..(after i get my scope fixed)
Well hurry up :)

I just bought a savage 204 for dirt cheap and I'm looking for a fur bullet. Ive used the 35 grain berger with good luck but always looking to upgrade

I bought my wife a ruger 204,
M77, if you run it fast it can jam, but otherwise seems to work okay. The varmint bullets I've used, Barnes 32gr, Vmax 32 and 40gr are so explosive, they're usually hard on fur is you hit them broad side. Past 250 the little round really loses effectiveness on coyotes

I recently loaded up some 204 rounds but have not had a chance to do any testing yet. I have a cz 527 American that shoots lights out with the 40 grain v-max. I took a factory round apart and it is loaded with 29.4 grains of cfe-223 which is what the Hornady reloading manual states as max load at 3900 FPS. I won't get a chance to do any testing until the end of April(way to much snow up here in western Montana right now) I hope everything works out for you I wouldn't trade my 204 for all the whiskey in Ireland.

It is a 204 ruger
Armbar do you have that Smith's info by chance?

Found it.

I did that about 9 years ago. I hope they are still around. I had problems feeding the 26gr. Barnes Varmint Grenades. After they did the work it feeds good.

Good luck!

Thanks! While the scope is off I'm going to call and see about getting fixed

22's are crushing deer. I don't see any reason the 204 won't do the same. Keep the impact vel high to make up for the lack of bullet dia.
