6.5 PRC CA Mesa. Used 124 HH with H4831SC started with Hornady data. Hornady Brass and Fed 210 Primers. Trimmed brass to 2.02", seated at 2.95", 1/8 crimp using Lee FCD. Results are here. Temp at time of starting was 65.3 degrees. None of the charges with any sort of ejector mark had stiff bolt. From the target, my though is to shoot groups with shots 2,3 and 4. Is that the correct next step?

1) 55.4gr- 3134 fps
2) 55.9gr- 3137 fps- very faint ejector mark
3) 56.4gr- 3163 fps- very faint ejector mark
4) 56.9gr- 3167 fps- faint ejecotr mark, slightly more than previous two
5) 57.4gr- 3223 fps- ejector mark, very evident. Stopped here.

Other than velocity what here shows you that a powder change should be next?
You are showing pressure at 3140, you need as much speed as you can get. Just saying I am pushing a 156 3050 in my rifle. I wouldn't switch to a way lighter bullet and only gain 100 fps. Not worth it, that's why I shoot them at 3450. Now it's worth the time and effort to develop.

Mt257,
Go to Hammer Hunter Load Data on this Forum. You can get much better speed with RL 26, N565, and apparently N 560. 3100 is fairly slow😄
What would be a starting point with 560? It's the only one I have you listed. Tried 1000 it was all over the place and showed pressure early too with no screaming velocities

...and some CA's will absolutely stamp your brass depending on the cartridge and chamber near pressure or not.
I have noticed that I do get those stamps. The 57.4gr charge above did have marks from both extractors. Am I missing something pressure wise with the CA?

I went out and shot those three charges again today. Three shots at each charge the 56.4gr performed the best average velocity 3164 with a spread of 12. Might not be the fastest load out there, should work for what I intend to use it for.

Why reload with components that do not give the superior results? Might as well shoot factory ammo.
