Mt. Morrison. I guess he wasn't the Sheriff . Was a member of posse.
I've never seen a sectioned McGuire bullet, that's a very clean design.Showing a bisected 160 gr 7mm Copper Rose we did along with the Apex. I think that was the 7mm 145/147 Afterburner. Tip got a little messed up in the cutting process. Also a clean and expanded version of the McGuire.

I remember and used those️150gr in my 06'I hunted with a Remington bronze point bullet in the 70,s, it worked very well. I was accused of using a FMJ at the time by a game warden. Took some time to get him to understand that it wasn't.
Yes, same bullet. Also in a 30-06.I remember and used those️150gr in my 06'
I got them in 88-89
I have an idea….shoot what you want!! You want to shoot Berger, shoot em, you wanna shoot Nosler, shoot em, you wanna shoot Hammer, guess what….shoot em! I love this forum, I get such a kick out of reading the arguing on these threads. In the end, I'd have a beer with anyone of you, even the ones that shoot Bergers . (Just poking)
ShoNuffGood stuff!
I killed my first big whitetail with those.I remember and used those️150gr in my 06'
I got them in 88-89
I bought 2-300 from Midsouth Shooters SupplyYes, same bullet. Also in a 30-06.
And the more I think about it ,it was in the late 70's through early 80's.
Lenny, you are right… and for one i had no idea my question would result in 12 pages of answers!Mr. Mighty Man, you have learned a very important and valuable lesson. You now know something that really works well, in your rifle, and something that does not. My personal choice would be use what I know works well , in my rifle, in my hands.
NopeLenny, you are right… and for one i had no idea my question would result in 12 pages of answers!
However i had already decided to use my accubonds…. For a number of reasons: worked on 3 elk before and all deer except for bergers in my 243
But really perhaps just asked the wrong question:
Very accurate, but had anyone else encountered anything like my results with the hammers?
what a novel idea, I'll have to try that!!Mr. Mighty Man, you have learned a very important and valuable lesson. You now know something that really works well, in your rifle, and something that does not. My personal choice would be use what I know works well , in my rifle, in my hands.
