Hammer Hunter not fur friendly

Almost more hole than doughnut from this 160gr HH from a 300Bee. The 3" strip down the center of the back is still intact. I am calling this load officially 'fur friendly'.

Nice. Can you still get the kindler golds? I'm planning on getting a barrel for my contender in 17 fireball.

Don Unmussig in VA makes a .172 , 30 gr bullet that is identical to the 30 Gold, IIRC.

I like skinning yotes and saving the pelts. I have some 23gr Hammers that I am going to try in my 17 Tac. 20 cal is about as big as you can go and not blow stuff up, IME.

I'm sure Steve at hammer would make pretty much anything you want. I'm tossing around the idea of a 40gr 224cal for 223rem that is a "solid" solid. No hollow point for rabbits.

I know 22lr/17hmr is the easy button for plinking rabbits intended for consumption and per usual I'm trying to reinvent the wheel for no good reason.

I still have a pretty good stash of 30 gold. They are a fantastic little bullet. That is amazing how they kill things.

Excellent, thanks. I'll check it out.

Why not just shoot 55 grn FMJs then?

If anyone wants Don's number, PM me. I don't want to put it on an open forum. He's no spring chicken, I bought big lots from him last year. A prudent aficionado of the 172 30gr bullet, may be well served to stock up. He make 172 and 204 bullets for sure, that I know of, perhaps more.
