Hammer bullets shoot!!!

What's with this? It's taking all the drudgery out of shooting. Don't have to be overly concerned with seating depth or seating depth variations, copper fouling, cleaning efforts, etc.

My reloading bench used to be a place of solitude, thought, dreams and comfort. Spending less time there as time goes on. Hmmmm, more time for hunting!

You haven't missed an update. Winter will not let go. We have not been able to get to the long range. Got another storm coming in tonight gonna dump close to a foot.

This is pretty much the same thing I've found. I worked up a load with the 275gr Sledge Hammer in my 375 Ruger in 9 shots. Seat the bullet to mag length, pick a target velocity, work up to it and you're done.

Without spending all that time at the reloading press and cleaning the barrels I've gotten bored and had to come up with other ways to waste my time!

Same experience with my .375 Snipetac.
Think this was a 5 shot group at 100.

Here's a nice little group with 181 hammer hunters @580 yds. Including #1 cold bore shot. I'm getting ready for a spring bear hunt in couple weeks. Can't wait to give a bear a hammer!

I just got back from a successful Bear hunt in the hells canyon area in eastern Oregon
A cross canyon 510 yd shot. The wind was hard to call,updraft thermals on each side of the canyon and a light right to left breeze. After waiting about 4 hrs. The Bear stepped out into the open. I was able to spot my shot and saw the shock wave of fur move across his body. Followed by the "thump" he cartwheeled down the hill into brush.
Upon inspection, I hit him a little far forward of the front shoulder but the exit was center shoulder. The tissue damage was minimal in the actual meat but there was a moderate amount of blood shot jelly on outside layer and inside armpit wing on the exit side.The shoulder was still saveable.
Well then the work began, we didn't make it out the canyon until 1:30 a.m. and then a second trip the next day.
During processing the meat I did find 2 of the petals off the bullet. I am pleased with the performance of the hammer hunters bullet and can't wait to try it on deer and elk this fall.
