Hammer Bullet

I've got a 24" Proof with 1:8 twist.
I would think you'd get over 2900 fps with RL16 and the 131. I'd run RL26 with the 137 and don't doubt you could get around 3000 fps. Remmy700 is the one who told me to use RL26 with the 140 gr bullets in the Creed. I think he got 3042 fps in a couple of his Creeds.
Well I am hitting 2950 with the 124gr hammers so I doubt I would hit 3000 with the 137's

With RL26? I'm getting over 3000 fps with RL16 and the 124's.
If you're using RL26 with the 124, it may be too slow of a powder. You want something in the 4350 burn rate like Varget, HV100, H4350, RL17 or RL16

RL26 has been faster than h4350. Superformance was over 3000, but grouping wasn't great.
I have a 22" barrel though so speeds are going to be slower.

I will be trying varget at some point.

what length barrel?

I want to try the 131 or 137 gr hammers with RL26, I think stablity will be fine for my altitude. It would be cool to see 2850 out of either of them.

Really happy with the 124's though.
If it is an 8" twist I would stay with the 124g Hammer Hunter. You may be able to get the 131g to fly well but I am afraid that they may want to tumble on impact.

Yea the 124gr are a safe bet and i love how they shoot. Thinking about the 131'sonly because i like to tinker.

Ill prob just stay with what i know works.
