I don't get it. I never let anyone else hunt my land but if someone knocked on my door asking to track a wounded animal that ran onto my property, I would call my neighbor and we would go out and help him find it.
Guided hunt. Didn't know that I was on the property line until we tracked the deer.Maybe something we should all know....was this a guided hunt...if so..has this person you were with had run-ins with this neighbor before....and if so...shoukd this guy had known not to get you into this predicament in the first place...
And if he knew he was pushing the limits of his hunting area he should have circled around that wounded buck..even if bad wind..and chased it back into shooting possibilities....
My only beef with the guide was lack of communication. I would have tracked the deer from a different direction. However, it was my job to put the deer on the ground and I didn't do that.So your guide put you into a situation that was not good..
Maybe your guide should reevaluate his business and his 'for lack of better word'....."ethics"
300WM, 180gr Nosler Accubond over H1000.sounds like it was a tremendous buck. i had something similar happen in utah. for sure a warden would have traked it on the other property. what rifle/cal/load?
