My Ruger Precision like most of the6.5 projectiles but absoutly prefers the 147 ELD-M's.

I've shot a lot of Hornady eldx and they shoot well for me, what is everyone's go to 6.5 bullet for tiny groups? I've kicked around the sierras and eldm I know they have a few different weights but have never ventured past the eldx. Targets or game doesn't matter. Pick 1 bullet you would try first no matter what 6.5 caliber you tried because it's a forgiving projectile to work a load up with. 1/8 twist

I found the 142 Nosler Accubond LR's in the Winchester Expedition factory load in the Savsge 11 LRH shot into .342" for 5 including one I pulled low.
Ticked me off as I love working up loads, now a factory loads took my fun away, LOL.
I just picked up a box of Berger 156gr. EOL Hunter bullets.
I just loaded a box of 20 in two different powders and my plans are to give them a try today.

I want to build a 6.5 SS. Would I be able to easily find reloading dies and casings for it?

My .260 Rem, Sako 85 Greywolf likes the 142 gr Nosler Accubond LR. Accurate and great performance on game as well. Tried Berger, Barnes, Swift A Frame, Sierra GK, Hndy ELD-X, Hndy SST, Nosler partition and Nosler Accubond and the 130 gr Sirocco--all shot "good-ish" enough to hunt with in that rifle but the sub MOA performance was with the NABLR. I have not tried heavier bullets but I have a 1/8 twist so I could probably get away with 150 gr?

Every 6.5CM rifle I have had(5) have shot the Hornady 140 eldm's very well. Handloads in all were 1/2moa or less. All liked the Berger 140 VldH's although it took a bit more effort tuning the seating depths. The bullet I am playing with now is the Hornady 143 EldX. Loading it in a CA Ridgeline over RL16 and .020 off the lands. First 5 shot group was .458" at 100 yds. ES of 10 and SD of 5.2. Gonna take it to 400 yds this weekend and see how it does. If it shoots good at the longer ranges it may replace the Berger' as it is more cost effective.

I shoot 6.5 cm, ruger American. 140 sst, h4350, 2650 fps. 5/16 group 100 yds 5 shots. Amazing for a 400 dollar rifle. Cant wait to see it after it broke in

Seems that somtimes all that matters is how accurate a bullet shoots. I am the same when shooting targets. For hunting i want accuracy and game performance from any angle. In 6.5 i have had spectacular performance/penetration and excellent accuracy, about 1/2 min, for barnes 130 ttsx. For my target i shoot 140 berger vld for .25 in groups.

I have a savage fcpsr creed that shoots 1/2" with the 129 interlock, 140 black and 143 eldx precision hunter amazingly accurate factory rifle. It shoots the eldx handload very wel equally accurate. I have a model 12 that I've tried both 140 rdf and eldx with h4350 and can't get it dialed in the way I want. It's only purpose is a target rifle. It's bedded in a bell and Carlson. I'm super anal with the 12, neck size, weigh cases match primers etc. I'm just wondering if a 130 might be the ticket or a eldm/Berger.
