I'm currently using a garmin foretrex paired with my Sig Kilo6k HD and like the set up. I've been looking at the garmin Tactix pro ballistics model to replace the foretrex as something that i can use as my watch daily for all the other functions. Does anybody have experience with the tactix and foretrex? From what I can tell the major difference in the ballistics function would be using an app to create/manage profiles for the tactix whereas with the foretrex I create/manage profiles on the device. Any feedback is appreciated

Just got the tactix 7 pro ballistics watch yesterday. Haven't really studied it much. So far it's seems very impressive.

Anyone know if there is a way to sync my current kestrel gun profiles in the kestrel phone app to the watch or Garmin ab synapse also on my phone?

You can hook up the kestrel to synapse but only for wind/environmentals. You can NOT move your profiles over to the watch from the kestrel and you're stuck paying the synapse AB hostage fee

What is the synapse fee? I had not seen that.

I see it looks like synapse let's you save gun profiles to their cloud. I was hoping kestrel could do that too and be able to just import everything that's already set up.

If I understand it correctly then, I'll probably just enter gun profiles in synapse from now on and push to watch, then disconnect watch from phone and connect watch to kestrel for eviromentals

Honestly if you have a kestrel ab elite it's redundant to get synapse. You're just paying a decent amount of money for the same capability, but on a watch.

It's $100 for the "lite" version which limits you to supersonic distances.

For the full thing it's $300
