I was going to buy a quarter game bag from Midway USA and I got this message pop up when I went to checkout.

Then I found a pack of 4 Koola bags that were cheap, and it would let me checkout.

This is a first for me, but I can't say it doesn't surprise me. We can barely get spray anything in CA. No oil based paint of any type.

The L.A. fires tell you how Captain Hairdo's policies are not working.

Sorry! I was born in North Island Naval Base, San Diego, and my home of record is Fairfield, CA. I left in 1989 and never looked back. My wife and I still have families throughout California and enjoy vists from time to time.

The volume of regulatory nonsense in CA is unfathomable. I was born in LA and moved to the Bay Area and escaped 55 years later. I feel for you.

I don't want to start a CA bashing, just that it's very frustrating. I was born in L.A. also, I hate it. My son graduated from UCLA and he likes it down there, one of his high school friends built a successful beauty supplies company on the web. He lived right around the corner from us.

Hah! Fairfield is where Captain Hairdo has been living, he had a $3.5M home that was gifted to him by his business partner, and he coincidently forgot to claim it on his taxes...imagine that? 🤔

I know CA is bad, but I'm kinda stuck here as my property is in Lake County. It is very different up there, trust me. It has some of the cleanest air in CA and only requires smog testing when you purchase a vehicle. But now diesels are under attack also.

On a different note, do you guys know if you pay the same as CA does to buy powder from BassPro? I was just looking at powder, which is way worse than Sportsman's Warehouse, which charges $60/lb for all Hodgdon powder. BassPro is $67.99. What do you show for your state at this link, it is the same?

$64.99 for H4381SC, I just bought 4 lbs from a local mom/pop for $54.95.

Do you guys show those outrageous prices? They charge hazmat also, but will let you search local stores to see if it's in stock. Granted we don't need many bullets for hunting, but that's besides the point. Powder is going through the roof. And nobody has primers in my area.

PS - I like Thomas Sowell, and Milton Friedman also, his late mentor.

My comment was not intended to bash. I know I cannot change the direction the state was taking, but I can change mine. I sold my house in Fairfield.

I remember that from the 1980s.

I already have a pretty good inventory of components, but I started this thread in 2020, https://www.longrangehunting.com/th...the-local-gun-store-empty-handed-rule.255740/, to prove a point about what incremental purchases can do and prepping for shortages. I remember buying powders at $28/pound, and now at the price levels you noted, you noted if you can find them.

I agree! They are/were brilliant people who were not often given due credit.

Problem is, darn near anything synthetic has at least trace amounts of pfas in it. Heck--- pretty sure every human alive has pfas chemicals in them--- better ban all humans from CA now

Too bad….Those are my favorite game bags. I've had my original bags for 10ish or so seasons. They always wash up nice, hang well, and keep the meat clean. Many of my family and friends have bought them after seeing mine in action.

In other news, I'm heading to LA in few days to staff a plane for the issues seen in the news recently. Can't say I'm excited to be there, but at least I'll get my family's spring break trip funded.

Perhaps a fellow member can assist you with obtaining them.
