Since we are rained in this weekend decided to start test full length barrel bedding on 300 Wby with light Palma barrel since it is longer than 16 1/2" 223 barrel which is working well so far. Still just trying to see why NULA and Barrett Fieldcraft are done this way. Both the 300 Wby and 223 have a very solid/ rigid feel doing this. I have not shot 300 Wby yet to see what impact it has on this longer thinner barrel.

Second pic shows my 3/8" brake line "pillar" I use if not enough room to put 1/2" pillar. This is similar to what old Mauser's used.

Update, shot 2 cold bore shots today. With this full length barrel bedding the 2 shots where right next to each other but 5 1/4" higher than what original zero was before bedding. The windage was correct so no change there.

Forgot to take pic of 2 shot group as son just his new Crux 338 suppressor and we fired couple shots with it. This suppressor was really nice with the 300 Weatherby.

I'm thinking I'm going to give this a shot with my Tikka superlite .30-06. Any recommendations or warnings to be aware of? How did you do the dam at the end of the barrel channel to keep the bedding from squishing out and subsequently leaving a gap?
