Fluted Bartlein vs Proof Research sendero contours

I haven't read the whole argument about this but here's this for a thought. Less metal means less mass. The entire liner would get hot faster than a barrel of the same size as the wrap because of the heat transfer rate. Due to the decreased mass the liner sheds the heat faster because less metal got hot and therefore there are less BTUs to shed.

Granted I do tend to think the carbon would prevent the barrel from shedding heat but if it is effective at heat transfer at all, it might lose heat at a faster rate than a sendero profile of all SS or chromoly.

Lothar Walther used to have a aluminum sleeved barrel for center fire cartridges on their US website. It appears to be gone though. It used their LW50 SS as the liner and, what I assume, is a heat/cryo assisted press fit fluted aluminum sleeve. There is also Drake Associates that makes a Ti sleeved barrel. Only in .308 bore though.

But it of a sidetrack but it's my thread so meh. Does anyone know if Accurate mag magazines will work in any AICS/AW bottom metal? Want that extra overall length and if I can't get it it's a deal breaker for dbm.

Yes, Accurate mags are clones of AICS mags and are an AICS footprint. As for COL i went with Alpha originally for dad's SAUM gave me 2.970 COL. Then we picked up an accurate 3rd 300wsm/SAUM so it wouldn't protrude so much out of the rifle. Loads still fit despite it saying that the COL is shorter at 2.950, though you can remove the front plate to probably get even more.

So, accurates would not need dual feed ramps like for AW correct? They would run just like AICS Mags just give me more COL?

The action I am looking at is not set up for AW so trying to address this beforehand lol.

Not sure what you mean by dual feed ramps? There is only one feed ramp for a bolt action.

Less the action you're using is cut for an AW mag you'll run AICS. AW is double stack double feed much like an AR and requires a cut for 2-lug actions (which truthfully i don't like) or a 3-lug action which runs them fine, like my tempest.

AICS pattern mags other than the ARC mag are semi-staggered single feed mags and work in pretty much any 700 footprint action that is a repeater. Accurate will give comparable COL to AICS. You can remove the plate in both Accurate and AICS to get more room. Though if you're absolutely looking for more length Alpha offers mags with longer COL than usual.

What cartridge are we talking about?

I just got my 375 archangel out of jail and put it on my 338 improved and was shocked at how loud it was compared to my TBAC 338 ultra on same rifle
You mean the manufacturer misrepresented their product's decibel reduction? From their website, you're supposed to be able to shoot that one in the house, next to the infant's crib.
"Hands down the quietest 375 Cheytac suppressor... ...we guarantee it."

That must only be true for the 375 Cheytac. OR, maybe it's not true for any cartridge.

Yeah i would say so! i know its a 375 cheytac rated can but you would think that it you could shoot it without ears on and be fine on a 338 cal with 28" tube! not the case... put my TBAC on there and its way nice without ears on!!
don't get me wrong the can is light and shorter than my others but not worth it if it wont make it hearing safe!!

Cut for double feed is what I meant. 7Sherman Shortmag. Trying to get 2.93 col in a mag feed.
