Flatbed Trailer - Tent Platform?

Why not build 4 thin walls out of plywood, maybe insulated ,that are hinged at the bottom, and fold them up and put a ridge board across then a heavy duty tarp over it or a tent.
Then you could attach table , bed, hooks , etc......to walls for stability if you want .
No worries with wind , as long as you don't drive down the road with a fire going and the sides up .

Note: I might have a propane heater and Knight in shining armor suit for sale ,instead of a wood stove ?
Or why not pull the trailer...with a 40' diesel pusher and quit all the fooling around!

Done did that, antelope, keeps us off the ground away from rattlers

Great thread, these ideas are exactly where I was heading only I'm planning on using a Planar 2D heater that'll stay outside and piping the heat in. Iv'e been using one of these heaters for the past 7 years in my commercial boat and it's been excellent.

Man, all that flapping when you drive down the road would make me crazy(er)...

Just kidding, couldn't help it, having that kind of day!

It is a great idea and I was just thinking about those rocks you find at 0300 but crashlanding, you had me at rattlers!

@Muddyboots The only negative I remember was we decided to just set up camp in the stock trailer instead of packing camp along to Montana in November late 90's. I think I was 30 and my brother 28, so pretty young and in good shape. Just a normal metal gooseneck stock trailer six horses will fit in fine. We had a wood stove and it was fully enclosed with wood panels in the upper slats. Temps at night in low teens, mid 20's in the day. We ran the wood stove wide open and FROZE OUR FLIPPEN ARSES OFF!!!!, Both of us swore to never sleep in a dang animal trailer, and to this day take two rigs so we can have our normal wall tents for camp. We figured it was just the air all around us as the floor joints were closed with cow flop and rubber mats. We have been -10 or more many times in the wall tents....cool but warm enough.

we used my 7 x 14 trailer, added some 2x4s for a wall and roof and draped a large tarp over. 3 cots for sleeping and fake grass for the floor. We were cozy, dry and warm with a single buddy heater, off the ground and clean. the rear ramp of the trailer was used for removing muddy boots and clothes. We added a hoist at one corner of the trailer for hanging game if we weren't near a tree.
