I am in the process of working with Karl from Kampfield on a 18in 7saum build. I am not "anti-carbon" but I like the more traditional look of steel barrels. Can you post some pics of your 18-20 in steel barrel builds?

Savage 10 with Xcaliber 18" 6mm Creedmoor it's still a little unfinished. I'd like to dip/paint the stock and add a cheek rest. Bottom photo is right after assembly. Top two are after getting barreled action back from Cerakote.

18" M700 .308 Win. I just chopped the factory barrel on this one put it in the Greyboe stock and hunted it.

18.5 HB savage 10 6.5 . Hogue stock. Not super fancy but Bartlien barrel insured its crazy accurate.

Not 18" but 16" 6.5 saum…this is my second one, can't see myself not having one in the stable. Great short handy package to hunt with, especially out of a box blind.

I have had great luck with my Excalibur barrels, I have a 6.5 CM and a 338 Lapua mag and both shoot very well, I've been up there several times and they really want everything right before sending one out. I Paint mine to change with location and I'm cheap I guess.
