The thread on misplacing a rifle (firearm) in your home had me thinking about the numerous firearms I own that have never been fired, or at least by me. Many of those are collectables, but many were and are new hunting and shooting firearms that for one reason or another, I just had to purchase and they became added to the "collection".

So, how about you? Do you own firearms you have never shot?

I might own a couple. My wife tends to remind of this when I start looking at another one.

I think it is more prevalent with us older people. I know several of my friends own guns they have never used.
My deceased brother was one of those, for regardless of the number he owned, he had specific firearms he loved to purchase on sight.

More than half of what I own I have never fired! I tend to reach for my "favorites". my kids will have to decide what to do after my passing.

Only ones that are half completed projects, sometimes it takes much longer than expected to put a rifle together and it takes a while to get done and shot.

NIB Freedom Arms Premier Grade in .475 Linebaugh, gifted by my stepdaughter. I do open the safe and drool on it occasionally.

Keeping it NIB…….hopefully, it will be a good investment for her future! memtb

We have a few Collectable NIB Never Fired except Factory other than that we shoot everything that we purchase unless it is for a customer New From The Factory. All our NEW BUILDS are "TEST" Fired for Safety and ACCURACY.

My FIL probably has several hundred he NEVER FIRED! He just buys and then something shows up at a Gun Shop that he has to have. He has bought and traded more firearms than I can count in the past 25 years. Sorry to say we never saw any before he sold to get a good price... He is a Firearm junkie!

Only a couple have never been shot(Dads 50 cal muzzleloader,220 swift J action Savage)
Way too many have been shot very little(338 Edge, 6-284, 20ppc ......) some have just run thier coarse(7 mag,22-250 8 twist and 243s) and been replaced by something better. Even the 6.5sweede has been replaced by the 6.5 Grendels and the ar Grendel gets used more than the great little cz527 Grendel.
So many toys, tools so little time
