Finally got some time off to shoot the 50BMG…..

I had the Barret and the McMillan TAC 50. We were in WV and shooting long range when a very good buddy walked up beside the TAC 50 just as I shot, it bloodied his nose and gave him a pretty bad headache for 2 days. Not sure if he got a concussion or not but I caution everyone around a 50BMG. The TAC 50 with the Big Mac stock was a very good rifle but with all the advances in bullets and powders, I enjoy my 300PRC more, so I sold both 50 caliber units. I used the 750 grain Amax ammo for both.

I always wore ear plugs and sound deadening ears over to avoid any issues.
I sure wish I would have had ear pro and remember having a headache after a few hundred .50 rounds that day. At the time I just figured it was the stress of the day and never attributed it to the .50. Hindsight, it was the .50. Between the ringing and the flat out not hearing things is a real buzz kill some days.

You have to be careful with a BMG. The military is starting to document some injuries from the recoil and concussion and are now limiting the number of rounds per range session.
SNOWFLAKES!!! must be the same recruits that can pull a red stress card in basic. HAHAHA back in my day a Drill Instructor would make you EAT that red card and the second one would make ya ask for seconds!!! Our military REALLY needs some work!!!

Roger that, almost as bad as shooting an 81mm mortar out of a M113!!! Boy, if some of us vets had a dollar for every .50BMG sent down range we'd be some seriously RICH folks!!!
That's where my brain went. Can't even imagine how much it cost for all the 50 ammo we burned through. Wish I had that cash, I'd be hunting sitting in a tree stand right now instead of on my phone. Lol
