To acquire a firearm for a private to Ffl transfer. Is a copy of the persons state issued cpl adequate or do you truly need a drivers license? This is on the acquisition side only.
Not familiar what CPL stands for but if has their name, address, ans expiration date on it, it should be good. Log book only needs to verify who the firearm was acquired from. For a non licensed person, it's an address. For a licensed FFL, it's their license number and. Simple as that. Get a photo copy of ID for your record though.OK thanks. If the CPL has that information is that suitable per ATF?
Probably not. California CCW (CPL) says "Not to be used as a government issued form of identification"Concealed pistol license
I wouldn't consider a CPL a ID.Concealed pistol license

The way I understand it, each state is different on CCP. Montana is good with carry permit not even NICS check required, only have to fill out the 4473.
