Dave Shoemaker.
He's kind of an underrated craftsman. I have a friend of mine who has trumpets from all the big makers, and Mr. Shoemaker 's stack up quite well.

I've gotten down to using strictly a diaphragm call…I've used everything under the sun. Keeping it simple has worked best for me. I've wasted a ton of $ on gear over the years.

Repaired my favorite last year. JLC calls made me a slate over glass I've loved but he's gone dark. It repaired well and sounds the same to me! (Broken slate)

I have a custom call made by buster hallford. red slate over glass I like it a lot.
Primos Shark Hooks diaphragm call. Nice, easy, raspy yelps and cuts. KISS principle.

Primos Cuttin 2.5 has been my go to diaphragm call for probably close to 30 years. I've tried dozens of other mouth calls and that one seems to sound the best to me, but the turkeys tell the tale and I've killed dozens with it.
I am starting to play around with a homemade wing bone call a little more, got one with it. Sounds pretty good, but not as easy as a diaphragm.

I have my grandfathers from the 1960's with instruction manual, no box unfortunately…still works great.
