Favorite holiday traditions

Not all Thanksgiving days I get to hunt, but I've taken some good deer on Thanksgiving day. I won't hunt this year but will be spending time with family, my Son, his wife and his son will be here and my Daughter will be here with her fiancé, a Great guy by the way. My mother in law, my Mother, her sister will be here along with my wife's sister and her family. It will be a good time for all, going to deep fry a turkey, spoil the Grandson 😁 of course. Reflect on how I've been blessed…. I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Kudos for Hugnot!! LOL
We generally take some youths out for Quail Hunting, Pheasant Hunting they love it seems the only way to make their Dad's jealous then the year after old Dad takes them 'that's what they wanted anyway but some Dad's get complacent if you know what I mean.Sometimes they just need a little nudge and they see how important it is to their son or daughters. Works everytime, Anyways Happy Thanksgiving every one and don't forget are youth is our next generation of hunters and shooters.
Kinda gratifying for me to see them out with their Dad's the next year!

Every 4 years or so my birthday lands on Thanksgiving. Its always extra special. So I continue the tradition of smoked turkey and Runzas on my birthday. The Runzas were from an original recipe from the "Russian Bottom" in Lincoln Nebraska. We acquired this recipe from machinists and clock making machinists relocated (during tough times) to manufacturing jobs here in Arizona in 1960 or so. We are teaching our kids to smoke foods and make Runzas to keep our family traditions moving forward.
It's always about family!

Hunt in morning, get stuffed with tryptophan, nap until dinner with sandwich piled high with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Usually takes a couple holes on belt to accommodate the whole day's impact! Camp in recliner possibly to breakfast!😱😂

Thankful for family and friends. Thankful for everything that has been provided for us.

I wish everyone has a safe blessed thankful Thanksgiving.

It's the holiday season. Do you have any favorite holiday traditions you'd like to share with us? I'd love to get to know some of yall a bit more, so trying to encourage great conversation within the community.
Dad and I used to get out of the house early on Thanksgiving day, and go pheasant hunting. We'd enjoy the hunting, and more importantly we'd get out of the way of my mom, aunt and sister who were way too busy cooking!

If we timed it right, we'd get home just in time to serve Thanksgiving dinner.

It was a great tradition! Sadly now, I cook the danged Thanksgiving Day dinner... I blew it somehow! ;)

Thanksgiving for me is spending time with family.
We Whitetail hunt in the morning or maybe even a coyote gets the dirt nap. Have a great lunch and then back to hunting some more.
Did I mention when I see a coyote it turns into a coyote hunt. Deer just becomes the side gig after that. 🤣🤣
Hope everyone has a Great Thanksgiving and everyone makes some Great Memories !!

We don't have a formal Thanksgiving here in Australia but I celebrate Christmas with family and New Year with friends.
Hunting here for myself and friende is not during our summer as the outback properties we go to are way to hot. It has been 42*c about 108*f in the shade at 10 am and drops to 35*c about 95*f during the night. Occomodation is shearers quarters, a tin hut, consisting of 6 bedrooms. kitchen and diningroom.
This country is magic during autumn to spring and at 78yo I thank our Lord for so many years of hunting pleasure with my Christian mates.
May you all have a happy Thanksgiving and safety when travelling.

Thanksgiving Day always was about Deer hunting and Turkey dinner, usually we would hunt half the day and call it quits so everyone could go enjoy Thanksgiving with their families, next day we were all back at the hunting hard , we would make deer drives, then post , or sometimes we would drive one after another,we were young in shape and could and did go for miles and miles oh what fun . I remember well sweet soaked tee shirts under orange hunting clothes, when the swamps would freeze it was a breeze walk any where .No snow and warmer you best have boots to almost your knees , I remember loosing them in the ceder swamps and pouring out the water and muck, finally coming out half soaked, but oh what fun I'd do it all over in a heartbeat, God bless my Uncles for showing me the ropes . Yes Thanksgiving was always a Cherished Family tradition, interwoven with Deer hunting may it Last forever and ever God bless us all 🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦌🦌🦌,Cheers!!!
