Favorite holiday traditions

Not all Thanksgiving days I get to hunt, but I've taken some good deer on Thanksgiving day. I won't hunt this year but will be spending time with family, my Son, his wife and his son will be here and my Daughter will be here with her fiancĆ©, a Great guy by the way. My mother in law, my Mother, her sister will be here along with my wife's sister and her family. It will be a good time for all, going to deep fry a turkey, spoil the Grandson šŸ˜ of course. Reflect on how I've been blessedā€¦. I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Kudos for Hugnot!! LOL
We generally take some youths out for Quail Hunting, Pheasant Hunting they love it seems the only way to make their Dad's jealous then the year after old Dad takes them 'that's what they wanted anyway but some Dad's get complacent if you know what I mean.Sometimes they just need a little nudge and they see how important it is to their son or daughters. Works everytime, Anyways Happy Thanksgiving every one and don't forget are youth is our next generation of hunters and shooters.
Kinda gratifying for me to see them out with their Dad's the next year!

Every 4 years or so my birthday lands on Thanksgiving. Its always extra special. So I continue the tradition of smoked turkey and Runzas on my birthday. The Runzas were from an original recipe from the "Russian Bottom" in Lincoln Nebraska. We acquired this recipe from machinists and clock making machinists relocated (during tough times) to manufacturing jobs here in Arizona in 1960 or so. We are teaching our kids to smoke foods and make Runzas to keep our family traditions moving forward.
It's always about family!

Usually starts off with the circling of the wagons and blessings for all that we have and been given. After the meal we usually talk about hunting season. This year will be a little different as my son has chosen to serve this great country.

Hunt in morning, get stuffed with tryptophan, nap until dinner with sandwich piled high with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Usually takes a couple holes on belt to accommodate the whole day's impact! Camp in recliner possibly to breakfast!šŸ˜±šŸ˜‚

Thankful for family and friends. Thankful for everything that has been provided for us.

I wish everyone has a safe blessed thankful Thanksgiving.

It's the holiday season. Do you have any favorite holiday traditions you'd like to share with us? I'd love to get to know some of yall a bit more, so trying to encourage great conversation within the community.
Dad and I used to get out of the house early on Thanksgiving day, and go pheasant hunting. We'd enjoy the hunting, and more importantly we'd get out of the way of my mom, aunt and sister who were way too busy cooking!

If we timed it right, we'd get home just in time to serve Thanksgiving dinner.

It was a great tradition! Sadly now, I cook the danged Thanksgiving Day dinner... I blew it somehow! ;)

Thanksgiving for me is spending time with family.
We Whitetail hunt in the morning or maybe even a coyote gets the dirt nap. Have a great lunch and then back to hunting some more.
Did I mention when I see a coyote it turns into a coyote hunt. Deer just becomes the side gig after that. šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
Hope everyone has a Great Thanksgiving and everyone makes some Great Memories !!
