Shot the 110's at 600 yards for first time and couldn't be happier. 3115 fps. Varget powder.

After doing the math. The 124's dump the most FT.Lbf out of my dinky 20" barrel. Here's a video I did beginning of this summer with the 124's.

The 124 HH has been working great out of my 6.5x47. I run 41.5 gr of H4350. No velocity data yet. But I expect it's close to 3000 FPS. As I was running the 130 Accubond with the same load previously at 2900 FPS.

So I ended up at 41gr with still no pressure but think im getting close. Still only getting 2900fps with 41gr with a 4fps spread. Was able to take some very nice hogs at 400 yards and a great ram, and some sika deer. These hammers just plain work. Was unable to recover a bullet even at 404 yards.

Found my 124 Hammer Hunter load in my new Creedmoor....42.5 grains RL16, .030 off for 2946 fps with ES of 6 and all groups under .4".....barrel has less than 50 rounds through it and this is with brand new Nosler brass. I expect a little more speed as barrel gets 100-150 rounds through it and even tighter groups with 2nd firing of brass. Very Pleased with Hammer Bullets!!

I was about to give rl16 a try but just noticed you have a 24" tube. So I'm in the ballpark 46fps slower with 2" less barrel also low single digit es. Not sure I'd be gaining anything. Other than more barrel wear at this point. I always have to talk myself into being happy enough to not get tinkering and making things worse.
Lol
Thinking of doing a savage axis and cutting it down to 16" and fluting everything and running the 99 hammers.
Think .243 but better using a short barrel.

That's awesome. Did the petals exit?

Both animals shot with my 6.5x47 had petals exit as well. I should of clarified. Was wondering if the petals exited at 400 yds. My shots this year were only at 50 and 200 yds.

With Varget being non existent lately, has anyone tried a replacement powder with the 110 grain Hammers in their 6.5 CM? I have plenty of RL 16 and H4350. Might lose a little velocity but think it will work. Anyone try it?
