Fake Nightforce??????

There is another angle on these buys. It could be a set-up for robbery. There you are with $1500.00. Did they pick the place to meet? Sounds like a good way to get one's head busted.

Lol totally agree, hence why I post. Hard to believe, but just never heard of a fake NF. And he wants to meet in person which would be odd for a scam
Maybe a take-off from a stolen gun, thus he just needs to get it gone. Just a possibility

I agree with the cautions about serial number checks and the old addage " If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. The main thing I would like to point out is to be safe when meeting unknown people. A few months ago, a young man in my community went to meet someone to buy a 4 wheeler he saw on Facebook. He was robbed and killed. Be safe out there!

Or maybe he is rich and just doesn't want it anymore.
Reminds me of a guy that bought a coonhound for $11,000 and the a year later sold it back to the original owner for $3500.
Why can't I ever get those kind of deals?🤣

Reminds me back when i bought a jet boat.I like a deal and asked for the guys best cash price. The price came down a ways.I showed up with the cash, and he was like''is this real''.I said I think maybe we need to renegotiate.I had traveled half way across MT, pulled some strings cashed in a CD,to make it happen. Was 12x this deal,Oh ya I was packing...

Ask for the serial number and see if it is legitimate. Also, if your going to meet him ask to meet at a police station. if this works out, you may have a great deal in hand. Be careful and stay safe.

I agree that the serial number would be the best way. BUT if the scope IS counterfeit, what if the scope has a serial number from a genuine scope? The counterfeiter could have put a serial # from an authentic NF scope on it. He could have 20 fake scopes with the same # on it, and if a possible buyer calls NF or checks online, the serial # the buyer inquires about would be listed as legitimate because the original number was on a legitimate scope.

I saw a picture of a fake Leupold.
The S N did not line up correctly and the zero's were messed up but other than that it looked like a Leupold.
A guy on ebay posted it several years ago.
It takes a high dollar machine to get the serial numbers perfect, look for anything not perfect
