Edge TLR Unboxing, 7mm 155

I was able to do some quick loading done this afternoon, and decided to go shoot. Using H1000, since I'm almost out of Retumbo, and started at 69gr since that's what Federal recommends as their max load in 7mm Rem Mag for a 160gr Trophy Bonded Tip. And since they're similarly constructed, I decided that max load for 5gr less bullet weight would be a safe bet. I used the same COAL as on my 168 ABLR. I loaded 20rds, 4 batches of 1gr increments, so 69, 70, 71, 72gr. No pressure signs throughout all batches, and they all exhibited decent accuracy. Went all the way up to 72gr, and got this group. Only shot 4 times for this group because I wanted to use my 5th for a Magnetospeed reading. For the 5th shot I got 3117, which is right around what I was hoping for. I'm excited to use these this season!
Wow, that is excellent! Thanks for sharing.

Plan on trying out three different loads for my 7mm Rem.Mag. at the Range :.
- 139gr. BTHP-Match
- 145gr. Spitzers
- 162gr. S.S.T.
All loaded with H4831sc
Hope to get some good groups like 444 did

I was fortunate that I was able to use the same seating depth as my previous load with 168 ABLRs. At first sight, they appear to be the same length, but when measured, the lighter 155gr TLR is actually .015 longer than the 168gr ABLR. Not surprising, I guess, due to the amount of copper needed to make up for the lack of lead in the rear portion. You can kind of see it in this bad cell phone pic.

Thanks for the post, good to see they can indeed be acquired. If and when they ever become available in Canada I'm itching to try the 200 grain in my .300 win mag. These and the trophy bonded tips really do seem to be best of both worlds in that you can't drive them fast enough to fail but unlike so many other tough bullets they actually open and do damage at lower impact velocities.

Thanks 257Tony. Good info. I bought 5 boxes to try out in my 7mm Sherman Max when I get it built. I imagine it should be around 3200+ FPS and with a 8 twist the stability factor will be around 1.9. Should be pretty sweet if they open up well.

Mule deer doe, 450yds, bang flop. The performance was great, in my opinion for a tough bullet at distance. Half dollar size entrance, same size exit. Might've clipped part of the shoulder blade, just under the spine. She went down immediately. This was the first animal that I shot to truly judge the performance. The mule deer buck I shot this year was hit in the spine at 200yds and damage was extensive, as expected. So it was nice to see the bullet perform with a more traditional point of impact.

For those that don't see my posts before this for details: 7mm Rem, 155gr TLR@~3150fps.
