TO everyone that uses a credit card in private life or to run your small business. Our federal government just told us to bend over and take another one up the rear for being responsible and taking care of ourselves.

The Senate just pasted a bill that basically limits what the credit card companies can do to those that do not pay their bills on time, as far as limits on how much they can raise interest rates and that they have to give 60 days before raising those rates and they must inform the customers the rates will be increasing because of their late payments. All sounds logical and a good idea.

Well, they also also gave the credit card companies a few more tools to make money on us responsible credit card users. Ya know, the ones they(the credit card companies) refer to as dead beats because they do not make interest off us because we pay off our balance every month.

Our holier then thou senate just allowed them to charge us responsible credit card users interest from time of purchase. READ THAT AGAIN. THey can charge you interest the moment you swipe your card to make a purchase. No more 30 day billing cycle.......

THey also will be allowing the credit card companies to tack on large user fees to those of us that use credit cards responsibly.

Also, they said it was fine for the credit cards to eliminate existing benefit programs for us "Dead Beat" card users. That means no more frequent flier miles, no more cash back rewards, nothing. Which is fine to start that with new accounts but from what I understand, they can eliminate any built up rewards credits on your account when this bill becomes law.

ALSO,

Pres. Obama just announced his fuel requirements for new cars. 37 mpg for cars and 30 mpg for light truck. The hidden details talk about extreme taxes on vehicles that do not meet these standards with their average fuel milage. Again, from what I hear, its proposed that an annual tax of $500 per mile per gallon under the requirement be added. FOr example, suppose I get a new 2010 Camero which has an estimated fuel usage of 16 city/24 highway. Not bad for 430 PH!!! Still, if you average those two numbers you come up with 20 mpg. That is 17 mpg under the required 37 set by the government. That would be an $8500 ANNUAL tax on such a vehicle.....

What I got a kick out of was all the automotive pawns lined up behind the pres. to welcome in these requirements and the media just falling all over themselves to say the car companies are happy to have these requirements. Could it be that Obama has his hand so far up the rear of the automotive CEOs that he can make them do whatever he wants. Seems he now will have the same control over the credit card companies as well as he already has control of the banks..... This S___ is getting scary FAST!!!!

Oh it gets better. Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America let the cat out of the bag with a new liberal plan to add a new fuel tax to our gas bill. The proposed plan is to spread the fuel tax increase out over 2 years time. Get this, add 10 cents per gallon fuel tax EVERY MONTH for the next two years. Thats right, Thats right, by the year 2011, we could be paying nearly $3.00 per gallon of gas, IN TAXES ALONE!!! Add the $2.00 for fuel cost and state taxes and $5.00 per gallon gas will be the norm..........

Obama has no idea what makes this country run. Well maybe he does. His liberal partners have one goal. Keep the US under their foot so that everyone MUST depend on the government to survive. If that is the case, they have their votes already. This plan has been in the works for decades and its coming to the fore front right in front of our eyes.

I have said it before and will again, get off your *** and start chewing on your senators. I believe 95 of them voted for this cedit card bill. Certainly it had good parts to it but at the expense of responsible citizens. In my opinion, if someone was irresponsible and got out of control with credit cards, they deserve to have their credit ruined and pay high interest rates.

Work hard, be responsible, take care of your own and yourself and the federal government will not only expect you to save everyone else that can get away with murder but then they will punish you for being responsible in the first place.

The scary thing, for every good thing that passes through congress, there is something tied to it that hammers responsible people. In my opinion, this is by design. Responsible people vote their opinion and principles, irresponsible people will vote for anyone that promises to save them!!!!

We have another year and a half of total unchecked government. Again, start making noise, they have done this in only 6 months, think what they can destroy in another 18.....

Get off your rears and start making noise. This is exactly what is coming for the firearm industry or even worse. Do not believe it. Might as well just sell your guns right now and sign up or the "New World Order"!!! The warning signs are all over spitting in our face. WAKE UP NOW!!!

Kirby,

You sound a little heated........ Me to.

I run a small business plus on this assignment I put a couple thou a month on the CC and pay it on or ahead of time then get reimbursed by guess who? Yep the gov'ment.

What a royal screwin' this is gonna be.

Los Alamos is most probably the heaviest armed population I've ever be associated with but I'll feel better when I get back to Idaho!

I think the only good thing that will come about this bill passing is that you now can carry a loaded gun in a National Park. That was tacked on by Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn.

Kirby: I saw where it passed the Senate. Did it pass thru the House already?

We are getting screwed because the CC companies are going to raise rates etc. on all of us to make up for the late payers who are not going to have to pay those outrageous interest rates and fees.

I have already canceled two credit cards this week because of interest hikes.

I just Googled "Credit card Bill". I can't see very much negative reporting from either side on this. There are a few reports that are engineered to drum up fear, and a couple that say lower incomes will have trouble getting credit. Maybe I'm missing something but it looks like something good for a change. BO is expected to sign it regardless of the pro gun legislation(Thank you Tom Coburn:)) wrapped in it. Even the gun legislation passed (with the lefty's requiring a separate vote on it).

Why don't you and Kirby get a room? I tried to google for information supporting your statements and can't find anything? Got a link? Note: link must come from real news source, not white supremacist ultra-conservative douchenozzle media.

Is this necessary?
