I'm a US resident and would like to try my hand at a DIY whitetail hunt in Ontario in the next couple of years. I've been reading up on crown land and looking at the diffrent units open to non residents. I know some units require non residents to have guides and some public land is closed to non residents. I'd rather do it without a guide DIY style. Just looking to see if anyone has done anything similar in Ontario and what their experience was like.

I've hunted waterfowl and moose in Quebec in the Zec there without a guide. I'm doubt Ontario has any restrictions on deer. Their regulations should be inline. They have huge whitetail up there.
Good Luck

This is what I found with a quick search.

For moose or bear, you have to get a guide or relative that is a resident.

No restrictions on deer hunting for nonresident hunting on crown land.
