I had the exact same thing happened in a .308 rifle it was a burr in the chamber causing the problem just a thought better safe than sorry.
The entire neck shows it....If this were the case, wouldn't there be soot in/near the dimple?
This should have concerned you. It appears you have started your loading below safe minimum, this is as often just as dangerous as starting at maximum book loads.The dimpling has happened about a half dozen times during this process.
Women really like Dimples!!!Anyone have an idea why this is happening. It shows no sign of excess pressure. I chrony every shot and this one was about 30 fps slower. This is a 6.5-06. The brass was made by sizing 270 brass down and trimming excess length.
